I really like the roll up windows. $3k is a lot, but worth it.

Very nice layout! I like the juxtaposition of the Corvettes, American flag, while seeing the Chinese shipping names on the containers.

Wonderful concept. I love the combination of industrial feel (keeping the containers as containers), and rustic feel (the use of recycled materials from Habitat, and the rescued timber from San Diego Urban Timber – get that water mark off the counter – I notice everything). Once it’s finally completed, and it nearly is, this will be a wonderful home. And I LOVE the site! Congratulations!

Look like a rat-rod container house on the outside needs a good paint job but I think the owner is scared to use a paint brush  , lol .

Lovely job. I would still give it a coat of paint. I would still keep the lettering and numbers on it.

They talk about this core10 steel it still disintegrates, should look at the evident, rather what the people says.

I really like the wide EAVES — that’s what is missing from most container homes I’ve seen. Glad they aren’t going to paint it.

I have a 3-inch thick maple floor that was pulled from a college gymnasium. We didn’t have much time, so we just cut 10×6 sections and figured it out later — the floor cost nothing, but had to be out in one day. My builder had the great idea of pulling apart the boards and laying them like a regular wood floor. When they were being sanded to a flat floor, there were areas of paint all over, so we asked the floor company to stop as soon as the surface was flat. Everyone remarks how fantastic it looks.

Once again city government gets in the way with their outdated building codes, they don’t have a clue. (Planning dept.) “Gee, I’ve never seen anything like this before” Duh!  I swear this is a nation of mindless Zombies.

I never would have built a house below a highway. Somebody could easily drive right off the road and right through your roof.

cab t you look up the numbers of the containers? all ports have manifests don t they? Department of Transportation would be able to help you whatever port those containers were registered to? Would be a neat idea for an app….trace your box all over the world.

Hey you should do a vid on my cardboard and duct tape shanty because it’s so tiny and original. It only cost ten million dollars but I did all the work myself. I’m so cool and hip like all these hip tiny home builders. Look at me ! What a load of bullshit ! Put a video up when you actually find something original ! For fuck sake’s !
