I love that this video is 5 years old and the house is a simpler build. Many “tiny” houses have gotten too big. $500 is not unreasonable if you consider rental prices and utilities. They are also living in a beautiful place with the option to move when they want to. I would be interested to hear what they are doing now.

Well done both of you! It’s not about the money, it’s about the challenge and you did it! Very well done. You should be very proud of yourselves.

5hese are the dumb smart people, smart in that theyre looking in the right path, but dumb as in… why would you pay 35k dollars for a trailer? You could of paid 12k … or the best ones are 17k… thats half … oh and i have a honda… crv that only has 92k i got it at 74 k miles… and it was only 11k… not 35k… a model3 costs 35k… a subara wrx cost 35k… a hinda accord costs 15 to 17k brand new… not 35k… so idk what car youre talking about so. I mean with 35k dollars you could of literally paid rent in a small 1 bedroom house way bigger than that without the risk of oh if a storm cones by then my house is gone … i have nothing else moment… well you just move… you could pay roughly 70 months for 35k thats just under 6 years! Do you think that that tiny house will survive 7 years with no damage done to it?… yes, it is portable and that is definitely awesone, but paying 550 dollars for rent? What the gell is that?id be ok with 200 but i need the wifi… but still with 200 thats 2400 yearly… which is a lot of money in my opinion
… debt free in a tiny home where you own the land next to a river that flows fast with permaculture and on a slanted hill with trees all around with 4 doors, and dirt on top 9f the house with a self surlstaining farm that has fish feeding plants and plants feeding animals animals pooping feeding the fish… better to be chickens … and no more than 15 miles from town because thats the maximum a human is willing to walk… and i will not have any stove that runs on fumes that i would need the town to survive on for main purpises but for emergencies there will be a propane tank 150 feet away from the house… any water i use id put on the plants i know how to make soap but i dont know how to nake lye so ill have to stock up with at least 50 gallons of it… thatll last me 50 years at least.. a garden that a tree is in the middle and the shrubs and then vines and then vines with thorns and then bushes with thorns with one path to the tree, the tree will be feed by human waste, know know that nothing at all will ever be thrown away, fro chicken feathers, to goat poo…. from wood to piss… even batteries will live on forever… sulfuric acid, and epson salt…. the one thing the companies dont want you to know! Alkaline is way more profitable than any other kind of acid… gel cant be maintained, lithium is very hard to, but the ones that have a cap to fill it with water… those can be restored!… anyways ive been learning and my #1 plan is to live by myself without ever having to work again! I am going to work! I am working very hard right now, but hear this i am not going to be old with my back hurting working for a company that pays the elderly the same as children! If i ever have a company elderly would get paid double! Theyre old!, theyre doing doubke the work! And if they cant just put them in a chill place like security or tsa or police work… the easy stuff…. my family is cops army men, i am a security guard right now and i think cops are used by the government for the stupidest things blocking the road? Hire someone else!… anyways i ranted enough!

EEEK! LED light bulbs and dirty electricity from A/C to D/C conversion lamp. NOT healthy. No nearby ‘smart’ meter at least, so it appears.

So the $500 for rent includes utilities and Wi-Fi
J Marel says
Cute little place & that $500 included utilities which isn’t bad at all. A studio apartment is more than that!!

Guy: If you think you own something try not paying taxes. Also the guy: I respect ordinances because they are there for a reason. Me: These are all there to enslave you and restrict your freedom. $500 a month to rent land and live in a $30k shoebox. Something isn’t right here.

You have wasted so much money 35 grand wtf😨.500 on a patch of land what was you thinking

Did we forget the last 90 plus years of rv’s? A trailer provides more space, a fridge, a shower, a toilet etc… and the same if not cheaper space rent. I’m not sure why there’s such a craze over “the tiny house.” I think people are biased against anything metal to live in and therefore look like they’re making some big lifestyle sacrifice that’s something new. People have been living in rv’s for decades. I’d take a trailer any day over that overpriced claustrophobic rat cage.

All the comments about the cost. 30k makes sense though because they paid over half in labor. I personally couldn’t build this home myself but it would be worth the cost of labor to have such freedom. $500 a month is a good price if it includes utilities. I love what this couple has done. I’d be interested in an update 🙂

I like this couple they know what they want and they’ve got it! She does sound a lil sad toward the end when talking about her dad who passed away, understandably so. Also she hurt her back and if you ever went through that you would know it’s hell!!! Good luck guys tfs. Diana
