I sooooo loved that house. Wow, everything important was incorporated: 1)
windows, 2) loft concept for the bedroom with good air-flow, 3) water
storage, 4) kitchen & bath functionality, 5) space for an overnight guest,
6) off the grid and the rainwater collection, 7) did not appear cramped, 8)
recycled wood & shower, etc. Brett, you may have a great business venture
there (you already have a perfect display product) by either doing it for
others or aiding them in a built-to-own home for singles, young couples,
and retirees while they save money to build larger homes or travel. All in
all that seems to allow independence. GREAT JOB!!!
Brett … wonderful design. My daughter wants to build a tiny home and also
likes the design you have incorporated into the house. We are looking for
trailers now and wonder what size trailer you used. I can infer from your
house dimensions that the building deck size on it was maybe 22 ft? And you
stated on another question that the weight was around 6600 lbs ( 3000 kg )
. Is that including the trailer … or just the weight of the house itself
?

This is literally the best tiny home ever built! I already have a few ideas
how to make it a bit better and to change the design for myself, but I love
it so much! so many great ideas, so thoughtful!
also love this house-so well thought out and designed. is definitely a
comfortable place to be. i understand the off grid, 12v solar power.
haven’t got much knowledge of your water system however-do you depend on
the roof rain runoff? does that flow into your storage tank system, and
then pumped around by your pump to kitchen and shower? do you have to
treat/filter the water somehow? where do you get that water storage tank
that you used-boat builder supplier? really enjoyed seeing your house-has
set my mind into a frenzy of ideas for my own retirement freedom home!
thanks!
Smart! So Smart! I need to do just this and Brett Sutherland’s design is
just about perfect. I just moved off Kauai to Spokane, Washington to lessen
my living expenses. I currently rent a one-bedroom apartment for $855 a
month – dirt cheap from what I’m use to back home on Kauai, but it’s still
a waste of money renting! I have absolutely no building experience so I’ve
been looking around on the Tiny House Newsletter for builders and found
Tumbleweed Tiny Homes. Nice, but VERY dear! $70K US for something that
would fit my needs and wants. I really like their quality from the trailer
all through to the spray foam insulation, but still very expensive for this
bloke! Tom Wilson’s build is impressive. You showed his tiny home on your
YouTube channel which I viewed earlier today. Anyway, you’ve helped
tremendously with giving my some great ideas and ways to overcome some
obstacles. Thanks so much for that!! All the best to you! Aloha, Mark
This is like the ultimate system / design for a tiny house in my eyes. I am
comparing this to the high-spec house you recently filmed and I’m favoring
this one based on that roofline and ability to sit-up in the loft in the
end; the airflow concept is also a really practicality purpose of it so I
find it extremely impressive that it worked-out by default. Really enjoying
your channel, looking forward to learning more about this specific house!
I’m building-out a sketchup model of this one at the moment but wouldn’t
mind seeing if there are any other literal plans floating online of this
project.

Don’t like where the restroom is located, that’s unsanitary right with the
kitchen. Should have been at the other end of the house.
