We hope you enjoy this weeks video! We were really impressed with this design. Yurts are a personal favourite of mine and it was great to see this modern rethink of the interior design. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did! Love Bryce & Rasa

Small fine, round fine, but I’ve been through bad storms that would have beat the hell out of that kind of structure. As a permanent home it looks nice, but I would want something that is more durable.

ALL THE STRUCTURE IS EXPOSED. THERE IS ZERO INSULATION! if i were to do something like this is it would be a 40′ dia grain silo convert with hopefully a lower pitch (if not the center part could be usable like here) and 9′ ext wall. 3 bed rooms, 2 baths, then use glued on rigid insul with integrated nailing/screw strips (r20). then finish with 2 layers 1/4″ sht rock to make the bend and make the structure fire proofed. that would take a hurricane and be permanent. that would still cost about $60k but w/o land and utilities to it. how much do these guys plan to sell their utube experiment for? they have no land! they think someone will pay $60k for this CASH AND STILL LEASE THE LAND??? BTW WONDER IF THEY SLEEP UPSTAIRS IN THE SUMMER. LOL

I mean, looks nice and all but doesn’t this completely undermine the sole reason a traditional Mongolian ger/yurt looks the way it is? Mongolian yurts are eco-friendly and portable, (cuz, yunno, nomads and all). If you’re going to build a concrete foundation, might as well build a full-on house. Build upwards if you’re so worried about space.
Also LOL are they really keeping a full on plant garden AROUND THEIR BED? Goodluck with insects haha
The number one rule of living in a yurt is you don’t keep plants and other insect-friendly stuff anywhere near your sleeping space

One of the best interior designed yurts I have seen to date. Well done! Well water staining heads-up appreciated. Just a warning for fellow day dreamers… the philodendrons are toxic for kids & pets and the stacked wood base might attract pests galore. Mongolia (the birthplace of the yurt) is high, cold, and dry. It has an extreme continental climate with long, cold winters and short summers, during which most precipitation falls. Unless you place a yurt in a similar climate you will run into moisture and indoor condensation issues so do your homework.
