Lovely tiny house. A tiny house retirement village would be awesome. Adrienne is so right that when you work with the elderly, you come face to face with your own mortality. You also learn that the more we accumulate, the more we leave for our loved ones to dispose of when we go, and what a burden to leave them. If, or when, I get my tiny house, I would like to have shabby chic wallpaper on one wall in the sitting room area. The decor would be shabby chic.

I live in Florida and the thought of a nursing home sucks. A tiny house sounds great. The electric company here charges us almost $10 just to be a customer. Solar electric power is very rare here. A smaller house would give me more money to travel. How do I begin?

I truly do not understand how 2 or more people can live together in such a tiny space for a long lengrh of time. A night or two on a vacation fine — like a cabin. But day in & day out — how can they do it? No privacy whatsoever. What if I want some alone time to read a book or pray? Maybe my spouse wants to watch tv & I wanna nap — where are the doors to the bedroom. None. You could never have guests — no privacy. Great for one person. Even then, I like running water. And where do they store any heirlooms? It’s like they cut off everything from the past including their ancestry. No pictures, no art. Where’s the heart? I guess they like that simplicity. There barely seems like enough air to breath in these tiny houses they are so small. But they are cute. I think every family should have a couple of them in their backyard. Now that would be great — a man cave & a tea room. Make that 3 — a playhouse for the kids too. Lol. π

I can just hear her grandkids…lets go visit granny in the tiny house…how cute. And fun! I loved visiting my gramma in her huge country house estate. There were so many fun places to play hide n seek. When we finished with that we’d go play in the barns & fields & river & lake. My gramma never once mentioned her grand house was too big. I guess she enjoyed having a piano in one room & an organ in another & a large dining room table to entertain with & invite family & friends over. I wonder if having a tiny house is a way to avoid others. Is it?

Hahaha! At 2:55 is the first time Bryce realizes he’s met his match on the opposite end of the age spectrum. Then at 6:29 she makes him start to blush. Hilarious. Being right up there in age with the old gal I say this is brilliant for “retirement.”

I think as we get older we realize everything don’t have to be who has the biggest House and i have incorporated downsizing in my Home since i have watched Your videos on tiny Houses and now my Dream is to Build a Tiny Home of my own π I have been through alot and my story has made national news and they want me to write a Book on the stories so i think a Tiny Home is something much needed in my Life π

Definitely need a better ladder. Especially if her husbands not well. Going down a ladder half asleep is not good. A younger person can take a fall but that is hip breaking age and even covering part of that window would be worth it.
Maria Colon says
Very nice. I would love something like that but with our age for me no stairs. Would prefer to sleep down.

On a cold night, when the joints are stiff & very weary & tired they could break their neck climbing that ladder. I don’t agree boxing up mom & dad in a shed. No matter what they say. No matter how beautiful the scenery. Very little insulation against the elements. Making a pretty video on a beautiful day belies the truth & reality of year long weather. This couple is being taken advantage of – by their family, society, & vloggers. Whether intentionally or not.

Hi, Bryce!. I’ve been following the Tiny House movement for about ten years. I currently own a smallish house, and my daughter and her boyfriend live with me. They have a separate bedroom and bath, upstairs, so it works for us. We share common areas, and my daughter and I have our studios. Her’s is in the third bedroom, and mine is in the basement. Her boyfriend is currently looking for work in his chosen field of Museum History while working other jobs in the meantime. When he does , they will be moving. I hope to be able to retire in a year or so, and have been seriously thinking of doing the Tiny House thing. So many of them are absolutely beautiful. It’s great to see other older people doing this as well. My issue is I’m not sure how I would do a build on my own. But again, it’s inspiring to so other people making it happen. And you are fantastic and always upbeat host. It’s always fun to watch your episodes.
