Earth One, u totally miss the point. Even if we’re not being shown signs we’re running out of space, water, and other resources the philosophy here is to not take more than u need. U must be from TX or other backward place where u still think its the 1950s, buy the biggest house u can, and make a pig out of yourself and say to everyone “look at me”.

Its PAAAAAAAT.
DFAULTPOSITION says
It really annoys me that they’re trying to push off their mistake on someone else. This is why everyone just can’t build houses or houses on trailers, it takes some talent and ability to do it right. This wasn’t done right.

The biggest issue I see with videos such as these is the fact they “flaunt” they are circumventing laws. The tax man doesn’t like things to be rubbed in his nose and you can bet they will rewrite the code book to find a way to make sure they can collect taxes from you. I won’t even mention the people in their McMansions who will go nuts when they find out you are not having to pay the $1000’s in taxes they are.

Assumes the small room off the kitchen is the bathroom?
Its not just about area, its also location on a property. This was originally right up to the property line. Most places require a minimum of 5′ setback from the PL, thats so if there is a fire its less likely to spread to a neighbors property. Also any permanent structure on a footing has to meet seismic and wind resistance requirements which this clearly did not. Adapting it to the trailer circumvents all of these issues, but it would be a good idea if this was going to be parked for a long period to buy some wind anchors and tie the corners of the trailer down. That should make it safe for not only wind but also help stabilize it if there was a quake.

Excellent work girls ! Nice to see some initiative and action followed by results. I would defo’ live in it..but i live in another country…in a used delivery truck…loving it.. sneaking around living among’st the overpriced houses staying hidden from the councils and overzealous “homeowners”..
i will never be able to afford buy a “traditional house” in the burbs…. but i have gotten very used to living in the truck and in fact, just the thought of going back into a house or unit or fixed dwelling to pay some investor,i find rather depressing..like the holiday is over…so it’s on the road for me.

Love it ! this has plenty of potential. This is why we need to do away with the govern.ment(al) officers who are hindering the process of evolution – the new paradigm !

Did you sell it if not how much would you take for it?
Taylor Ward says
They did sell it rather quickly if I remember right. Bigger is not better and I love the idea of living in a tiny space, not to mention building your own home and living debt free. How cool.

Seems like the problems these two are facing are a metaphore for a broader problem in the US. Police state policing the hell out of everyone. For all the energy put into building and modifying tiny homes, maybe we need more energy to force government to let people live their lives. Imagine how much lost human productivity has resulted from harrassing people about what is actually too trivial for any rationale human being to care about, like the size of the house someone built according to their budget or goals. Tiny houses are good news for the environment, something the government should wise up to.

why build a tiny home when trailers are already engineered for utilities & street legal . Seems like weight would be a problem moving around a tiny homes .
Tin Man says
That looks like a fucking trash bin.

I’ll take it.
Cross says
“I need a house…..I don’t have one…” yeah build more and make more legal to own tiny houses. I want a connected tiny house, I don’t want a lot of land and pay out my ass just let me buy a small home so I won’t have to live on the streets.
Alan Scott says
It’s a box – doesn’t look like a house – just a box !
Mr Krabs says
It’s unfortunate that the tiny house movement is infested with self hating liberals. I’m building a tiny house because it’s all I want, not because I believe Al Gore’s fantasy of global warming.

So what happened in the end? What was the asking price? Nice How far did you seek out to sell, state to state or just in your town? This is like a cliff hanger, what happened? How long did it take to sell this cutie?
