yes I agree Mark. I also saw this woman on a TED talk and she is wonderful. And yes i can see that one this small would be freeing, but I have a teen age daughter and this would be too small. And yes, family and / or friends who allow this on their property. I would have to ask my brother and we don’t get a long right now. Property is the issue and he’s a finish contractor. See the irony? I’m so tempted to cut off the back portion of this double wide and just start renovating, except I’m in between jobs right now. Then I would pull it to Washington where my son is living in Portland. Sound good? ok then.

I wish you luck I love you little home but I doubt you’ll live in it for the rest of your life for many obvious reasons

Well, a very nice dwelling for the price of a car, how lovely and debt free.

On est autorisés à vivre dans une mini-maisons à Montréal ? Sous quelles conditions ? Je serais très intéressée à en savoir plus !

Interesting, I live in Montreal. 36k is pretty a pretty affordable solution considering a loft could be be something round 160k to 300k depending in which Montreal area you are. But I still have some concerns:
1. We only have 3 months of real summer time compare to place like CA where the outside terrace can be an extension of your house. It could be cool if it’s located downtown at walking distance of everything…so you can hand out in a café or other place and just use the tiny house as a dorm. But known Montreal, there is no land available in the central districts.
2. Since early 2000, housing price raise a lot and double or triple in some area. But getting out of the housing market is not a solution as the housing market is still raising every year. A tiny house is like a RV…it will only depreciated . Financially speaking it is an expense just like a car so with the time you will lose you spending power. Not a good investment for sure.
3. If you want a family, you need a fixe address to be in the system. School is attached to a fixe address because you pay scholar taxe in your property. Something now public library. I think you rent mobile house plot with an address and this could be a walk around solution. But you will need to go outside Montreal city to find those plots…
Best luck…
