I live on conroe, Texas and anyone trying to get one of this should know that a nice one, like the one shown in this video will run you close to 200k when everything is said and done. don’t get suckered into just trying one. I’ve spent 40k to get my office/studio container done and it has no toilet.

dam thats the style i will do on my build. two 20ft containers i can lock and leave. i have a plan for a second sloping roof to insulate under and mount solar panels. great job, too bad about your water situation.

I just love all the alternative ways that people can live! Could you imagine if all the people lived in these ways then it wouldn’t even be an alternative, it would be the norm. And then we would find ourselves looking for the new alternative.

Fabulous location and a beautiful home. I agree, that solitude, silence, nature and creativity are the best things.

There are several components to creating an amazing design. One resource I found which successfully combines these is the Magic Container Plans (google it if you’re interested) without a doubt the no.1 info that I’ve seen. Check out this extraordinary website.

Just for information purposes, in case you did not know. There is a device that makes water out of air. I found it while searching to make my future container home self sufficient/off the grid. It may be worth looking into so you don’t have to truck your water and you could then put a toilet in your home rather than the out house. You did a great job and I can see why you enjoy it. I wish you much happiness in your life.

What an awesome guy, we share similar values :] I think a small well-designed space, especially something repurposed like a shipping container is a great idea for those of us who seek to spend the most of our days out in nature or working the land and live sustainably. Thank you for making this video showing us his cool home. Definitely an inspiration for us as we create our own shipping container home in the Big Island of Hawaii.

after some research I really wonder how bad the mold can be in a container, how much space gets lost by insulating propoerly and most importantly – I’d like to know if it’s really cheaper to build than a regular tiny house.

Awesome shipping container build! Only thing I don’t get is why you didn’t put in a bathroom after doing such a great job on the rest. I would have to have a shower. JMO, not trying to down you or anything. All in all, it’s one of my top 5 favorite layouts. It’s big enough so you don’t feel like you’re In a sardine can, yet still small enough that it’s efficient and cozy.

For security, structure, wear n tear. This is one of the best ideas ive seen yet.
As long as you can get those containers transported to your remote location, its fantastic. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

Boring??? Heck no! More like a dream come true! Saying Adios to life as a cog in the machine and living alone off grid with his dog in the middle of nature is the way life should be lived. !
